چکیده

We discuss in this paper the canonical structure of classical field theory in finite dimensions within the pataplectic Hamiltonian formulation, where we put forward the role of Legendre correspondance. We define the generalized Poisson p-brackets which are the analogues of the Poisson bracket on forms. We formulate the equations of motion of forms in terms of p-brackets. As illustration of our formalism we present three examples: the interacting scalar fields, conformal string theory and the electromagnetic field.

Gauge and BRST Generators for Space-Time Non-commutative U(1) Theory

The Hamiltonian (gauge) symmetry generators of non-local (gauge) theories are presented. The construction is based on the d + 1 dimensional space-time formulation of d dimensional non-local theories. The procedure is applied to U(1) space-time non-commutative gauge theory. In the Hamiltonian formalism the Hamiltonian and the gauge generator are constructed. The nilpotent BRST charge is also obt...

We introduce the spherical field formalism for free gauge fields. We discuss the structure of the spherical Hamiltonian for both general covariant gauge and radial gauge and point out several new features not present in the scalar field case. We then use the evolution equations to compute gauge-field and field-strength correlators. 1 Overview Spherical field theory is a new non-perturbative met...

Microscopic Description of 2D Topological Phases, Duality, and 3D State Sums

Doubled topological phases introduced by Kitaev, Levin, and Wen supported on two-dimensional lattices are Hamiltonian versions of three-dimensional topological quantum field theories described by the Turaev-Viro state sum models. We introduce the latter with an emphasis on obtaining them from theories in the continuum. Equivalence of the previous models in the ground state is shown in case of t...

Generalized Hamiltonian Formalism of (2+1)-Dimensional Non-Linear σ-Model in Polynomial Formulation

We investigate the canonical structure of the (2+1)-dimensional non-linear σ model in a polynomial formulation. A current density defined in the non-linear σ model is a vector field which satisfies a formal flatness (or pure gauge) condition. It is the polynomial formulation in which the vector field is regarded as a dynamical variable on which the flatness condition is imposed as a constraint ...

Particle Hamiltonian and Perturbative Gauge Theories

We discuss the Hamiltonian formulation of the Schwinger proper-time method of calculating Green functions in gauge theories. Instead of calculating Feynman diagrams, we solve the corresponding Dyson-Schwinger equations. We express the solutions in terms of vertex operators, which consist of the zero modes of the vertex operators appearing in string theories. We show how color decomposition aris...
